Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operation ofa platform drill Cat 6200 and a Sandvik Leopard DI650i
  • Operates and understands mechanics of a top head drilling unit equipped with multi-function joy sticks and GPS on a mine site
  • Complywithall company,client, legislated safetypoliciesand proceduresofdrilling in a large open pit surface mine
  • Understands the limitations of the drill rig and theperformancesitcan safelyprovide
  • Detects andperformsmall mechanical repairs to the drill
  • Communicateeffectively and professionally with other team memberswhen neededwith the ability to work with minimal supervision

Qualifications:

  • Minimumoneyear'ssurface drilling experience usingvariousdrilling units
  • Wouldhave thorough knowledge of drill patterns and the structure in which they are developed
  • MSHA p.48 metal/nonmetal ticket isrequired; training and supportisprovided to obtain or updatecertificate as needed
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

Work Conditions

  • 5 days on with 4 days off, working 12 hour days that has the potential to alternate between a day and night shift rotation
  • Overtime rates apply after 40 hours per week and are paid at time and a half
  • Living out allowance provided for those who qualify

  • Work will be primarily outdoors and in various weather conditions
