Tesla is seekinga highly motivated individual to lead, support, and manage a team of process technicians in our journey to enable world class manufacturing of Tesla's cutting-edge humanoid AI robot. The primary quality we are looking for is an exceptional ability to learn quickly and implement strategies for training effectively. This individual must be highly organized and possess an excellent ability to coordinate skillset versatility across a team of technicians to address yield loss on the bot manufacturing line. This role requires working closely with the Production, Maintenance, NPI, Engineering and Quality teams as we evolve through rapid innovation of this incredible product.

What You'll Do
  • Ability to mentor and develop a strong team through selective recruitment, thorough on-boarding, training, and coaching within the team
  • Oversee a team of technicians to troubleshoot yield loss, repair/rework, documentation, and accurate material inventory management in a rapidly evolving BOM and manufacturing process. The operation to learn is as large as the operation to build and requires an effective communicator to allow seamless flow of information in a 24/7 operation on a compressed work-week shift
  • Track and report critical production data from management of non-conforming WIP, create categorizations such as process complexity, part quality, and other sources of production pain points to aggressively improve efficiency of the operation
  • Develop and maintain strategies for effective team skillset versatility
  • Develop effective training methodologies to support production associate onboarding and certification to highly complex assembly processes in a dynamic environment

What You'll Bring
  • Associate's Degree in Science, Business, Engineering, Technology or equivalent experience. Prior Process Engineering, End-of-line repair, or Remanufacturing career history highly preferred
  • Ability to work and lead effectively with team and peers within a manufacturing organization
  • Enthusiastic, innovative, and take-charge attitude. This candidate can add value independently and set the team's priorities based on competing and urgent priorities
  • Demonstrated history of documenting team's versatility and developing team skillsets in assembly and repair
  • Ability to follow a template to provide clear, valuable metrics and critical information between shifts for seamless operations and shared learning. Categories include rate, output, safety, and quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in an assembly, manufacturing, or maintenance environment, minimum 1 year managing a team
