Responsibilities

Join our team as a Medical Assistant and be an integral part of our healthcare services. You will play a vital role in maintaining efficient patient flow during clinic hours, ensuring a seamless experience for both patients and healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include:



  • Documenting review of systems and measuring vital signs such as pulse rate, respirations, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Updating past and current medical, social, and family history, and reviewing medications at each visit.
  • Recording patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Assisting in training new employees to enhance team performance.
  • Preparing patient charts in EMR by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing diagnostic test results and medical records.
  • Obtaining necessary information from external facilities and acting as a Super User for EMR when required.
  • Refilling medications and pre-authorizing them by communicating with patients, pharmacies, or insurance companies.
  • Maintaining and disposing of patient samples and expired medications responsibly.
  • Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring they are clean and fully stocked with medical supplies.
  • Facilitating medical decision-making by obtaining pertinent medical information from patients.
  • Managing communication through calls, MyChart, and EMR/Practice Management systems.
  • Scheduling appointments, handling patient check-ins and check-outs, and completing pre-certifications for procedures.
  • Operating diagnostic equipment and performing clinical duties such as administering vaccinations, phlebotomy, and cast removal.
  • Maintaining a safe and secure work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Protecting patient confidentiality and adhering to legal responsibilities associated with the role.
  • Supporting quality measures and enhancing patient experience.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, EMR, and scheduling systems.
  • Strong verbal and social skills to work respectfully with patients, physicians, and other stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to other physician offices as needed.


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience in medical assistance.
  • Experience in various care settings such as Primary care, Specialty, EMT, etc.
  • Complementary clinical skills such as phlebotomy, performing EKGs, stitches removal, and splinting.


Schedule Notes

  • Must have urology experience listed on resume.
  • 13-week assignment, Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM until the end of the clinic (4:00 to 4:30 PM).
  • Floating required to 5 other Urology Client clinics.
