This position is part time.

We are seeking a Senior Technical Advisor with a broad and deep background in wastewater, stormwater, and wet weather management technologies and regulations to provide technical leadership across the organization. This role serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, pursuit teams, and project delivery teams, helping shape strategy, strengthen technical positioning, and elevate the quality and consistency of our work.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical credibility, an understanding of regulatory drivers, an understanding of innovative technologies, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance that supports winning work and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Strategy



  • Serve as a firmwide technical resource for wastewater, stormwater, and wet weather planning, design, and regulatory compliance
  • Support development of technical strategy, service offerings, and market positioning across BC offices
  • Track and interpret emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and industry trends, and communicate implications to internal teams


Pursuits & Business Development



  • Support go/nogo decisions, proposal strategies, and technical approaches for key pursuits
  • Contribute to proposal narratives, technical sections, and review of deliverables to ensure clarity, accuracy, and differentiation
  • Participate in client conversations as a senior technical specialist when needed


Project Delivery Support



  • Directly engage with clients and project teams to support the development of project deliverables and client presentations
  • Advise project teams on technical approaches, application of innovative technologies, risk management, and regulatory considerations
  • Provide peer review and quality oversight on complex or high-profile projects
  • Support consistency in technical standards, tools, and best practices across regions


Collaboration & Mentorship



  • Collaborate with discipline leaders, project managers, and technical specialists across BC offices
  • Mentor staff and support development of technical capabilities, including innovation, and thought leadership
  • Foster knowledge sharing across wastewater, stormwater, and wet weather practices



Qualifications:

Required



  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline (Master's preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 25+ years of experience in wastewater, stormwater, and/or wet weather system planning, design, or implementation
  • Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to support pursuits, strategy development, and complex technical decision making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority


            Preferred



            • Experience working across multiple regions or jurisdictions
            • Background supporting large, complex, or multidisciplinary projects or initiatives
            • Prior experience in a firmwide or advisory technical role


            Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

            Location A: $162,000 - $220,000
