Information Security Lead - Cybersecurity Operations

Department of Technology & Innovation

Information Security Office Division

Number of Positions: 1

Starting Salary: $153,000

Under direction, this is a Lead classification. The class is primarily supervisory in nature overseeing the Cyber Security Operations and performs related duties as required. This class is assigned to the Leadership Technology Job Family which consists of positions responsible for overseeing the identification, prioritization, and delivery of work activities, coach and developing employees, providing thought leadership to business partners, and shaping and executing the technology vision and strategy to maximize business values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

* Actively participates in the creation and execution of the Information Security Office strategy through contributing cybersecurity operations subject matter expertise.

* Drives the day-to-day performance of the functional area of Cybersecurity Operations which includes but is not limited to the capabilities of Incident Management, Security Engineering, Red Team, Threat Management and Vulnerability Management.

* Leads Cybersecurity Operations team members through setting and executing team and individual goals, measuring and improving efficacy and growing individual talent.

* Completes performance appraisals for subordinate staff, administers disciplinary functions, and approves staff time off requests

* Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools

* Facilitates information security governance through the implementation of governance programs, security committees and advisory boards

* Develops, maintains, and publishes information security policies, standards, and guidelines

* Assures security practices and process meet federal, state, and local laws and regulations

* Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers, and stakeholders

Additional duties may be required for this position

Location: 2 N. La Salle Street

Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00pm (flexible)

Qualifications

* Twelve (12) years of work experience in information security management or network architecture, of which three (3) years are in management experience of cybersecurity teams, OR

* Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems or a directly related field, plus ten (10) years of work experience in information security management or network architecture, of which three (3) years are in management experience of cybersecurity teams, OR

* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems or a directly related field, plus eight (8) years of work experience in information security management or network architecture, of which three (3) years are in management experience of cybersecurity teams, OR

* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems or a directly related field, plus seven (7) years of work experience in information security management or network architecture, of which three (3) years are in management experience of cybersecurity teams

Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications

* Preference may be given to applicants who possess:

* A Master's degree in a directly related field, a Masters of Business Administration degree, and / or professional IT security, firewall, and network certifications.

* A deep understanding of both Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) and on-prem Security Operations Center (SOC) support models.

* Management-level, or greater, knowledge of market-leading SIEM platforms and SOAR tools

* Knowledge of threat intelligence, digital forensics and vulnerability management best practices and market-leading tools

* A strong grasp of widely-accepted NIST, ISO and CIS cybersecurity frameworks

* Experience protecting an enterprise from the risks of Artificial Intelligence usage and leveraging Artificial Intelligence to improve cybersecurity controls.
