Department Summary

The mission of the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life at UCLA is to enrich the personal growth and advancement of UCLA students through their involvement in, or affiliation with, the fraternity and sorority community. UCLA hosts a vibrant community consisting of 60 inter/national and local Greek-letter organizations, overseen by six governing councils. With approximately 3,500 students actively engaged, this community represents 13% of the undergraduate student body. Our office is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive learning environment where every student feels a sense of belonging, grounded in a shared dedication to their fraternal values and the core principles of True Bruin Values: Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
Position Summary

The OFSL (Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life) Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the functioning of the Fraternity and Sorority Life student community. Key skills and qualifications include strong communication, leadership, knowledge of student development theory, commitment to diversity and inclusion, crisis management abilities, and a collaborative approach. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on campus communities by fostering positive relationships and supporting the growth of fraternity and sorority members.


Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

  • Greek experience at the Inter/National level. (Required)
  • Demonstrated experience with Greek letter social organizations within a large, urban University. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership development training, guidance, and counseling to college students. (Required)
  • Demonstrated skill in inter-group dynamics, intercultural relations and organizational dynamics. (Required)
  • Skill in prioritizing assignments and completing work in a timely and accurate manner. (Required)
  • Skill in interpreting University of California, Los Angeles, regulations, rules and policies. (Required)
  • Ability to make knowledgeable and appropriate referrals to other UCLA departments. (Required)
  • Skill in student programming and Greek letter social organization internal and external programming. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective oral group presentations. (Required)
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively and sensitively with a large and diverse group of students. (Required)
  • Ability to write effective business correspondence and procedural guidelines. (Required)
  • Ability to implement, evaluate and consult Greek letter organizations on current recruitment programs, trends and procedures. (Required)
  • Ability to interact, communicate and discuss problems, solutions, current issues/trends in regard to local undergraduate chapters, with alumni /associations, housing corporations and regional officers. (Required)
  • Working knowledge of topical issues and problems facing college students and organizations (including substance abuse, sexual assault, liability, etc.) (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in related area and /or equivalent experience training. (Required)
  • Master's Degree Master's degree in Education or related field (Preferred)
