Branch Civil is searching for a GPS Modeler to join our well-established, growing company. The GPS Modeler role compiles, manipulates, and analyzes data and plans to create 3D models for machine control field operations. This requires proficient plan reading, CAD experience, and some engineering analysis, specifically with earth moving.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze information from contract drawings, specifications, and field surveys.

  • Create reports, maps, applications, and visualizations conveying the results of spatial analyses.

  • Utilize various CAD platforms including but not limited to AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, Trimble BusinessCenterand MicroStation.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of 3D models to support efficient and effective construction operations.

  • Identifyconflicts andresolvesambiguity in the engineer/owner's design.

  • Work with Project Engineers and Project Managersrelated to troubleshooting andgenerate plans addressing inconsistencies.

  • Manage and transfer files to projects using several software platforms includingbut not limited toTrimble Works Manager, Trimble Stratus and Topcon MobiControl.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma orequivalency.

  • 2-3 years construction survey experience preferred.

  • Some knowledge of Trimble and/or Topcon GPS equipmentpreferred.

  • Some knowledge of engineering and survey practices.

  • Some knowledge in Microsoft Word & Excel is preferred.

  • Some knowledge of Bluebeampreferredbut notrequired.

Work Environment

This positionoperatesin an office environment with frequent project site visits. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers,phonesand photocopiers/scanners.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week.
