The Manager Enterprise Strategic Program Management, Strategic Management Office plays a critical leadership role within the Strategic Management Office (SMO) in the Data & Technology (D&T) organization, providing strategic direction, technical program management oversight, and enterprise integration across FedEx's digital transformation and technology modernization initiatives.

This role manages and develops a team of ICs while partnering closely with D&T executives, Enterprise Architecture, and senior business leaders to ensure FedEx's transformation programs are well-defined, aligned to future-state architecture, and delivered with rigor and measurable value.

This position is designed for leaders with experience driving large, technical transformation programs across multiple teams and functions. The Manager works with senior D&T and business leadership to convert strategic priorities into integrated, executable programs that drive FedEx's digital transformation and technology modernization initiatives.

Responsible for leading a dynamic program management team to oversee and drive a portfolio of strategic initiatives across various business domains. This role demands a thought leader and strategic consultant capable of identifying innovative opportunities. Responsibilities include ensuring rigorous program management standards, financial oversight, and executive-level reporting to support the company's strategic objectives.

Essential Functions

Leadership and People Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of SMO Program Management Professionals operating in a matrixed environment
  • Allocate SMO resources across programs based on strategic priority, skill fit, and capacity
  • Provide performance feedback using input from multiple program and functional stakeholders, and ongoing coaching for skill development
  • Foster a culture of accountability, strategic thinking, and proactive problem solving

Technical Program Definition and Roadmap Development

  • Partner with D&T executives to define the technology roadmaps that enable business transformation programs, including scope, outcomes, success metrics, and integrated roadmaps
  • Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture to ensure all digital transformation and technology modernization work aligns to the approved future-state architecture and technology pillars
  • Ensure technical integration across D&T teams and portfolios to avoid duplication, misalignment, and execution gaps

Execution Oversight and Governance

  • Oversee execution of complex, cross-functional programs, ensuring risks, dependencies, and trade-offs are actively managed
  • Lead governance forums, decision cadences, and executive readouts to support timely, informed leadership decisions
  • Drive consistency and rigor in technical program management practices while allowing flexibility for differing program needs

Executive Communication and Influence

  • Manage executive presentations, materials, and recommendations for senior leadership forums
  • Translate complex technical and program information into clear and concise "so-what" insights
  • Influence without authority across business, technology, and portfolio leadership

  • Reporting & Insights: Compile updates, analyze data, and develop insights to maintain continuous visibility into program progress and outcomes. Provide executive-level reporting on risks, roadblocks, successes, and overall program health.
  • Financial Management: Partner with finance to oversee project costing and valuation, ensuring financial targets are met.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in business administration or related discipline.

Minimum Experience

Five to eight (5-8) years of experience in program management in a business environment or strategy consulting with a demonstrated strong understanding of business and financial planning functions. Two (2) years of experience as a leader or a senior member of multi-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working closely with Enterprise Architecture or technology strategy teams
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and value tracking
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale digital transformation or technology modernization programs
  • Advanced proficiency in executive presentation development and storytelling
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar analytics tools
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency and insight generation
  • Project Management Professional or equivalent certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong management, business acumen, human relations, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical and communication (written and verbal) abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead people and manage executive-level programs.
  • Ability to drive strategic initiatives and deliver impactful business outcomes.

Work locations

  • The desired locations for this position would be Memphis TN, Pittsburgh PA, or Plano TX,, however, this position may be located anywhere within the United States excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories. Depending on your location, you may be required to work at a FedEx Campus several times per week.
