The Department of General Services is looking for a talented individual to join our team as an Interior Design Project Manager. A bachelor's degree in interior design, construction management, or a related field is typically required, as well as proven experience in project management within the construction industry, with a strong emphasis on construction methods, scheduling, and people management. The Interior Design Project Manager works within the State of Tennessee Real Estate Management (STREAM) division of General Services. Our team of workplace strategists and interior design project managers oversee the design and construction of office space for various state agencies across 95 counties. Projects can range in size and complexity from small furniture/finish upgrades to large single-story build to suits. The right person for this job will use their knowledge of design, drawing development, construction methods, and best practices to oversee construction projects from drawing completion through construction completion, ensuring they are finished on time, within budget, and to the required standards. You will work with various key stakeholders to determine construction phasing and schedules. You will lead progress meetings with the landlord, contractor, interior design project manager, agency, end-user, and various vendors. You will conduct regular site visits to document progress and ensure that all work meets the required standards and established scope/drawings. You will perform the final construction punch and ensure identified punch items are completed within the established timeframe. You will often need to travel to various project locations across the state and work irregular hours to meet project deadlines. Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to five years of work in one or a combination of the following: architecture, industry related project management, and evaluating and planning the renovation, construction, installation of building system components, or interior and construction space planning.
