Job Description




As a Security Officer - Patrol with Access Control in Herndon, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and respond to alarms, while delivering strong customer service through clear communication and professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors at a technology office location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access control issues, visitor concerns, and/or workplace disruptions.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other security-related systems, and report unusual activity, maintenance issues, and/or hazards according to site procedures.
  • Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, and communicate status updates to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
