Security Officer - Armed Roving Patrol

As a Security Officer - Armed Roving Patrol in Memphis, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm professionalism. You will provide strong customer service, clear communication, and accurate reporting, reflecting Allied Universal values of integrity, teamwork, reliability, agility, and innovation.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, athletic fields, and perimeter points, observing for unusual activity and reporting concerns per post orders.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with school administrators and local public responders as needed.
• Control access at designated points by verifying identification, monitoring visitor sign-in requirements, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and assisting with after-hours entry procedures.
• Complete timely documentation such as incident reports, patrol logs, and shift handoff notes, and communicate significant events to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 2+ years of security experience.
• Have an armed guard card/license.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
