Security Officer - Patrol

As a Security Officer - Patrol in Des Moines, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy food and beverage production location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and help maintain a visible presence that may discourage security-related incidents. You will greet employees and visitors, communicate clearly, and document observations while supporting a caring, people-first culture. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a food and beverage production location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and escalating concerns per site guidelines.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, production-adjacent areas, parking lots, and perimeter lines to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Control access by checking identification, verifying visitor and contractor authorization, issuing temporary badges, and directing drivers, deliveries, and/or pickups to designated areas when assigned.
• Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control points when assigned, reporting irregular conditions, hazards, and/or maintenance issues to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
