Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and/or service calls with calm, clear communication. You will document activity, support access control, and collaborate with site teams to keep operations running smoothly. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and/or public responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or suspicious conditions.
  • Control access at gates and/or checkpoints by verifying identification, managing visitor and contractor entry, and documenting vehicle and package movements per site procedures.
  • Monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, intrusion alarms, and radio communications, and complete detailed reports, logs, and incident documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years' armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have an armed guard card and/or license, preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
