What You Will Experience In This Role:

ILS is seeking a Systems Engineer to help design, integrate, and sustain complex systems that support mission-critical operations. In this role, you'll translate stakeholder needs into clear requirements, lead systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing solutions. Responsibilities:



  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Work in a team environment to provide 24x7 support of the production infrastructure
  • Properly documenting and maintaining an inventory of production IT assets and related policies and procedures


You have:



  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows, VMWare, Nutanix/Acropolis, and UNIX/Linux based environments.
  • Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (Windows, Oracle, and UNIX/Linux stacks)
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Acropolis, Docker)
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • Experience with networking equipment and infrastructure (Cisco, F5, RSA)
  • Experience with database queries and scripting languages (Oracle, SQL Server, Powershell, etc.)
  • CI/CD experience a plus


Nice To Have:



  • 5+ years experience
  • Cloud experience, preferably in AWS or Azure
  • Direct knowledge of Veritas backup solutions
  • Direct knowledge of F5 Load Balancer
