Air Products has an immediate opening for a Tax Accounting Analyst to join our team. This role supports the Company's U.S. GAAP financial reporting related to income taxes and works closely with business and operational stakeholders. The position is responsible for assisting the Director of Tax Accounting in ensuring the accurate accounting, reporting, and disclosure of income taxes in the Company's financial statements.

The Tax Accounting Analyst will use the Corptax Provision software to calculate, analyze, and record income tax provisions for entities across the South America region. This role will also coordinate with and support local country accountants, Corporate Tax planners, and others to resolve and communicate income tax accounting matters related to the region.

This position is focused specifically onincome tax accountingand does not include responsibility for tax compliance or return preparation. However, a background in tax compliance and/or tax planning is beneficial and commonly part of the experience of our professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, load, and analyze tax provision data in the Corptax Provision software tool
  • Collect information for the monthly close; prepare and book income tax provision journal entries in SAP
  • Work with local country compliance teams to prepare returntoaccrual trueup adjustments
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between Tax Accounting, local country compliance teams, and Corporate Tax planners responsible for the region
  • Perform internal control reviews and document compliance with the Company's internal control framework as it relates to income tax accounting for the region
  • Responsibilities include current and deferred income tax provisions for 16 legal entities across 7 countries, as well as the review of 7 global elimination ledger tax provisions
  • Identify root causes and drive process improvements to address errors and process gaps
  • As needed, assist with tax accounting for divestitures, acquisitions, and other business restructurings
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including enhancements to the utilization of income tax accounting software

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish, with strong conceptual and analytical abilities
  • Strong desire to be part of building a bestinclass income tax accounting team
  • Ability to implement tasks accurately and with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal direction
  • Ability to identify issues and contribute to their resolution, both functionally and crossfunctionally
  • Additional language skills are a plus
  • Additional automation skills (e.g., Qlik Sense, BW, Alteryx, etc.) are a plus

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance (or similar qualification)
  • Five (5) years of experience in a technical accounting position or multinational tax role
  • Prior experience working within a global tax advisory firm is a plus
  • Experience working in an international environment
  • SAP knowledge and experience specific to the tax area of expertise
  • Experience reporting multinational tax provisions and using related software is a plus
  • MS Office: High level of technical proficiency in Excel
