Oversee, manage, and support the Non-For-Profit Banking Team within the C&I Department. The Team Leader is responsible for maintaining all current C&I Non-For-Profit relationships while also growing the portfolio through a new expansion initiative. This role offers an entrepreneurial opportunity to create and launch the team at Needham Bank. Over time, the Team Leader will be expected to guide additional Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers to foster growth. The position also involves collaborating with and leading Cash Management Officers and leadership to broaden banking services within this emerging sector. Furthermore, the Team Leader will develop strategies, set objectives, and offer support for business development efforts-not only for the Small Business Relationship Managers but also for commercial development across the Bank's Retail Network. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage an existing client base and work to expand new opportunities from the portfolio to include but not be limited to cross sale for more loans, deposits, cash management services, and business credit cards.
- Bring in new relationships for the Bank under this new program and become the initial driver of growth and business development.
- Develop and build the new initiative and bring the capabilities of the Bank to market for this new segment.
- Market the Bank to a wide list of new prospects in order to expand the asset segment to achieve dedicated and long-term growth for the sector.
- Create new policies and procedures to ensure successful specifically for this market segment.
- Advise on underwriting and portfolio management strategies to ensure long term risk management practices are built properly to ensure success of the portfolio.
- Overtime, lead the Relationship Managers by setting a robust strategy to achieve key goals in expanding and developing Non-For-Profit business relationships in the Bank's network and footprint.
- Develop a strong forward-thinking strategy that implements technological advances for processing opportunities in a more efficient manner.
- Become self directed in order to produce new deals by streamlining diligence, supporting credit approvals in an efficient manner but within the risk confines of the Bank and driving a closing process that is effective for the Bank and the client.
- Ensure that all areas of the program are being managed within the confines of the Bank's parameters for future growth, client satisfaction and acceptable risk.
- Provide strong leadership to the Division by mentoring and guiding colleagues.
- Maintain a strong credit quality and portfolio by ensuring that all Portfolio Managers are completing required maintenance on all accounts annually.
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
- Generate, develop and maintain large portfolio of Non-For-Profit relationships.
- Develop commercial relationships that are creditworthy, deposit rich and aligned with the Bank's strategic goals.
- Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process
- Discuss, analyze and win new deposit and cash management services with these relationships
- Analyze applicant financial status, credit and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans
- Present new loan requests and other reports as necessary (i.e.: CARs, Loan Review Responses) to the appropriate approval authorities within the Bank
- Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet clients' needs
- Overtime as the portfolio grows ensure that the Relationship Managers can originate and close new loans to existing customers and prospects consistent with the Bank's loan policies and state and federal regulations
- Work with Relationship Managers and clients to identify their financial goals and to find ways of reaching those goals
- Manage and grow an existing Non-For-Profit clients
- Along with the Relationship Manager, cross-sell other bank products including but not limited to: deposit products, cash management, merchant services, business credit cards
- Respond to customer and prospect inquiries
- Assist in the collection/work out activities with troubled/non-performing assets
- Represent the Bank at various community functions
- Participate on Bank task forces and committees as assigned
- Perform additional duties as requested, needed or assigned
Experience and Skills
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Prior team leader/supervisory experience preferred.
- Extensive portfolio management, business development, risk management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures
- Knowledge of department support structures, resources and personnel
- Good sales, organizational, communication and public relations skills particularly in working with documentation that requires special handling
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build strong relationships and alliances across the organization, ability to adapt to change, ability to multi-task, reliable and highly self-motivated
- Superior customer service skills, exceed customers' expectations
- Fluent written and verbal English communication skills

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related area
- Ten or more years' experience in Non-For-Profit Banking
- Educated in banking federal and state regulations and laws
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Normal business office environment
- Light travel within the New England market, as needed for client visits
Pay Range: $135,070.92 - $189,099.28 The pay range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the pay range for this job at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary based on experience, skills, and market factors; additional compensation may apply.
