Position Highlights

The Data Analyst designs, develops, and maintains data extracts, queries, reports, surveys, statistical models, and visualizations, using advanced analytical tools to inform decision making. The position ensures accuracy and efficiency of output and makes recommendations consistent with findings with guidance from the Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs and Vice Dean for education.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Designs and conducts quantitative analyses using statistical and analytical methods to identify trends, performance indicators, and emerging patterns across academic, enrollment, assessment, and operational data sets. Synthesizes findings into meaningful interpretations that inform leadership decision-making and long-range planning efforts.
  • Creates and maintains interactive dashboards, visualizations, and structured reports that communicate key metrics and performance indicators. Ensures reports are accessible, accurate, and aligned with institutional reporting standards and strategic priorities.
  • Translates analytical findings into clear, evidence-based recommendations. Provides guidance to leadership and program directors on areas such as enrollment metrics, accreditation metrics, and student outcomes. Identifies risks, gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates data collection and integration from multiple university systems (e.g., student information systems, assessment platforms, HR, financial systems). Applies established standards for data governance, validation, and quality assurance to ensure data integrity and compliance with institutional policies.
  • Partners with faculty, administrators, and cross-functional teams to clarify reporting needs, refine analytical tools, and improve data processes. Stays current with evolving data analytics technologies, methodologies, and best practices to enhance reporting capabilities and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education, public health, healthcare, or academic environments.
  • Experience with accreditation reporting, assessment metrics, or institutional
    effectiveness initiatives.
  • Experience in data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, R, Python, or similar platforms).
  • Experience working with enterprise data systems or data warehouses.
  • Experience developing dashboards and performance reporting tools.
