| Position Highlights |
The HVAC Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely. The HVAC Mechanic must be knowledgeable about industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations.

| Duties & Responsibilities |
- Repair work includes, but is not limited to, preventative maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, overhaul and repair of building systems HVAC and Mechanical equipment.
- Maintain and repair critical, specialized high-profile equipment, i.e. decorative fountains and stadium sky box heating and cooling equipment.
- Maintain assigned building systems and equipment and ensure that it is operating efficiently, functioning properly as per design intent and meeting established operational guidelines.
- Troubleshoots, repairs and overhauls equipment such as air handlers, exhaust fans, pumps, evaporative coolers, cooling towers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, bearings, electric motors, and other environmental changing devices and other mechanical equipment or electrical components.
- Installs, maintains or repairs air handlers, fan coils, exhaust fans, air compressors, pumps, vacuum pumps, evaporative coolers, belts, bearings, sheaves, and other ventilation and air conditioning equipment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and various workstation software.
- Familiar with hand and power tools and with testing and troubleshooting equipment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Provide excellent customer service and educate clients on system usage and maintenance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- In addition to the education and experience minimum qualifications, Apprenticeship program, technical training experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
