| Summary |
The Math Program Manager supports the Math Department's program needs and key support resources, which includes oversight of the Math Resource Center (
MRC) and support of the corequisite program. This position encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including the supervision of various key areas within the
MRC such as the Math testing area, college-level and corequisite support course tutoring areas, and foundational learning classrooms. The Math Program Manager will be instrumental in collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance overall student success in mathematics, providing insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making and resource allocation. This role requires a proactive approach to fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment, driving continuous improvement, and supporting programmatic offerings in pursuit of the department's mission to support students of all backgrounds to academic success in mathematics. |
| Essential Role Responsibilities |
Program Management
Coordination and Collaboration
- Assist department leadership with hiring, training adjunct faculty
- Lead a team of support course coordinators/faculty in collecting and organizing data and implementing best practices to ensure student success in corequisite program
- Leverage academic support via Math Resource Center to provide robust tutoring, workshop, and testing support to corequisite students and all Math students
- Collaborate with Math chairs and coordinators on needed updates and revisions to the Math program, supporting the department in its engagement of Math majors
- Support key initiatives to recruit and support Math students
- Collaborate with Disability Support Services and other offices to provide documented accommodations.
Resource Management
- Curate and manage course materials and resources needed in support of the Math program and the Math Resource Center.
- Support the calculator loaner program in collaboration with the library, including assessing demand and acquiring additional calculators.
- Oversee resource needs at the direction and in collaboration with chairs
Data Management and Analysis
- Analyze student progress data for transitional/coreq students and communicate results with key stakeholders such as cohorts and learning communities.
- Assist the Mathematics Department with data collection in support of the Math program and its initiatives
- Collaborate with FL Division on coreq data collection and assessment
ACE @ Math Resource Center Direction and Oversight
Staff Supervision and Management
- Recruit and interview Math specialists for the MRC
- Recruit and interview, train, schedule, and supervise Math proctors.
- Supervise MRC instructor and student tutors and coordinate with lead tutors to provide training, evaluation, observation, and feedback
- Supervise PT staff receptionist(s)
- Collaborate with Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) to centralize data, train staff, and streamline services.
- Track shifts and complete payroll tasks of all Math Center staff and tutors.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations in the MRC.
- Implement training, certification, and quality control standards involved with tutoring and exam administration.
- Evaluate and monitor tutor progress and quality of service
Workflow/Process Oversight and Facilitation
- Act as a liaison between The Math Resource Center and the HCC Test Center.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an effective and secure system for the distribution, collection, and delivery of math exams.
- Coordinate requests with IT, AV, and Plant Ops to provide necessary services in the MRC.
- Maintain accurate information in the TracCloud system.
- Monitor the collection and assessment of student data related to the MRC
Communication and Promotion
- Communicate relevant information about The Math Resource Center to instructors and students.
- Promote Math Resource Center services at events across campus.
- Promote and collaborate on corequisite workshops and event offerings in the Math Resource Center
Miscellaneous
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Math program
- Assist in process improvement and outcomes assessment activities

- B.A. or B.S. in mathematics or related field
- M.S. in Education or related field
- 3 years of experience with developmental mathematics students
- Experience with computer-based instructional strategies and software
- 1 years of experience tutoring preferred

- Knowledgeable in principles related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Commitment to fostering an environment that supports student success.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and Learning Management Systems
- Comfortable learning new software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work one-on-one with students, faculty and counselors
- May need to work evening and weekend hours as needed
- Ability to work with students and faculty with diverse personalities and needs
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Regular attendance is a requirement of this job
- Performs all duties while considering the impact of any actions on the college's sustainability initiatives in the areas of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic prosperity
