Assistant Plant Director of Operations

Position Description and Purpose:

Key Essential Functions/Duties:

• Champion employee and food safety programs
• Maintain Food Safety & Quality compliance that meets or exceeds customer requirements and government regulations local, state, and federal laws
• Lead a culture that engages employees at all levels to improve performance, efficiency, and cost. Collaborate with the Maintenance Director in maintaining a culture of continuous improvement focused on operational/maintenance discipline and root cause analysis
• Direct and reviews operating results, evaluates progress, and controls expenses related to human capital, and waste. Identify and evaluate opportunities to control or reduce costs within area of responsibility
• Collaborate with the Finance team to develop the annual operating budget in accordance with forecasted sales and growth initiatives
• Actively participates in coaching and fosters learning at all levels of the business. Identify skills gaps across the team and implement training programs to develop employees and build expertise
• Develop and implement both immediate and long-term operational strategies aimed at enhancing efficiency and fostering growth
• Identify constraints within assigned areas of responsibility and develop solutions to enhance efficiency and increase capacity
• Collaborate with engineering in a successful commissioning and handoff of capital projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments (e.g., Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, R&D, Commercialization, etc.) to ensure customer satisfaction and overall business success
• Ensure compliance with all Roskam policies & procedures
