Overview

General Dynamics Electric Boat, the nation's premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines, is seeking an AV support specialist to join the Information Technology department. Responsible for commissioning, maintaining and supporting complex audiovisual systems in secure, compliance-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

    Design, implement and manage modern, integrated cloud/hybrid cloud platforms that are future-proof and aligned with mission objectives.
  • Define and ensure solutions meet performance, security, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
  • Develop long term AV technology roadmaps to support modernization and lifecycle management.
  • Oversee vendors and subcontractors work to ensure adherence to DoD security standards.
  • Serve as SME escalation point for complex audiovisual issues across environments.
  • Provide hands-on support for critical meetings, executive briefings, and special events.
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, and SOPs for operational consistency and audit readiness.
  • Oversee commissioning, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance of AV hardware/software in line with IT change management.


Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise AV design, integration, troubleshooting, and operations.
  • Industry certifications such as CTS D, Crestron, Biamp, Extron, Shure, Cisco, or Q Sys.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Shure, Dante, and AV over IP.

Preferred:

  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking and AV/IT convergence.
  • Prior experience working with Electric Boat or other DOD contractors.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership and high-profile government events.
  • Familiarity with DoD RMF, DISA STIGs, and other federal compliance processes.


Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be able to function both independently and within a team environment and be able to facilitate internal and external team meetings with self-sufficiency.
  • Successful candidate must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated strong work ethic for completing tasks and work assignments on schedule.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and compliance packages for AV systems.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deliver training and knowledge transfer to support staff and executive personnel, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
