The Senior Director, Business Development and Strategy is responsible for developing and executing ASHP's business development strategy in the B2B (business-to-business) healthcare market including commercial and technology partnerships. This role will also manage and expand strong business-to-business relationships with entities including commercial publishers and other organizations interested in medication education/knowledge content, pharmaceutical manufacturers and technology corporations, and other corporate market segments.

This is a hybrid position that requires candidates to live in the Washington, DC area and be present in the downtown Bethesda, Maryland office as needed. At ASHP, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. The base salary for this position is $185,000-$205,000 and ASHP offers a comprehensive benefits plan. What You'll Be Doing

    Develops and executes strategic goals and strategies for the industry market segment (including but not limited to: pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers, health tech/software developers, drug information publishers/aggregators)..
  • Utilizes business development expertise and surveillance to identify business opportunities to expand ASHP market penetration.
  • Develops and executes corporate and operating policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Leads revenue budget planning and monitors and controls actual performance against the annual budget for areas of responsibility.
  • Develops ASHP's business development and partnership strategy in the B2B healthcare market.
  • Manages sales for licensing ASHP information and educational content through existing top tier customers, researches new market channels, and executes high value agreements.
  • Cultivates partnerships with existing and new customers to ensure exceptional service and identification of potential new opportunities.
  • Leads revenue budget planning and monthly financial monitoring for licensing contracts.
  • Leads the selection and engagement of strategic partners to increase reach and value of ASHP's offerings.
  • Manages key commercial partnerships and contracts
  • Professionally manages customer/partner experience and interactions with an approach that cultivates confidence and a strong working relationship.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


What You Bring to ASHP

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's in Business Administration or other related master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum ten years of prior work experience required, including extensive business development experience.
  • Extensive experience with the monetization of knowledge products and services.
  • Deep licensing experience.
  • Deep understanding of contractual relationships with commercial, technology, and publishing partnerships.
  • Demonstrated experience and success with leading business development activities and growing revenue.
  • High emotional intelligence and communications style adaptable based on audience.
  • Proven professional publishing/education knowledge experience.
  • Ability to think and act strategically and lead strategy execution.
  • Ability to build collaborative partnerships with staff and external commercial and technology partners.
  • Skilled business analytics
