Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Specialist in Georgetown, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will conduct routine armed patrols of assigned areas, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with calm, clear communication. You will document observations, support staff and visitors with professional customer service, and contribute to a caring, people-first team that acts with integrity, teamwork, and reliability.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting medical personnel and/or law enforcement as needed per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, and other security-related concerns.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying identification, monitoring visitor flow, and assisting with wayfinding while observing for policy violations and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Complete detailed security-related reports and logs, communicate observations to site leadership, and maintain required armed post readiness in accordance with licensing, training, and use-of-force guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years' law enforcement/military police/corrections experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
