Role: Accounting Manager - General LedgerPay: $130,000/year (negotiable)Location: Long Island City (Hybrid)Industry: Facilities ServicesKey Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
  • Close Management: Lead the monthly and year-end close processes, including the preparation of close calendars, checklists, and internal financial statements.

  • General Ledger Oversight: Manage all transactions related to assets, liabilities, equity, expenses, and accruals.

  • Journal Entries & Reconciliations: Review and approve recurring and non-recurring journal entries (revenue, payroll, prepaids, etc.) and oversee monthly bank reconciliations.

  • Compliance & Controls: Maintain the Chart of Accounts and develop robust accounting policies and internal controls to ensure reporting accuracy.

  • Audit Coordination: Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory agencies, providing all necessary documentation for compliance.

Payroll & Expense Management
  • Payroll Accounting: Manage the recording of weekly payroll journal entries, accruals, and funding requirements.

  • Reconciliation: Perform monthly and annual reconciliations of all payroll expense accounts to ensure alignment with funding reports.

Leadership & Process Improvement
  • Team Management: Provide direction, mentorship, and performance feedback to the GL Team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative environment.

  • Administrative Oversight: Manage team attendance, scheduling, and resource coverage.

  • Systems Innovation: Drive scalability by enhancing financial systems and identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement.
