Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated MSP Associate Network Engineer to join our security business unit.

The MSP Associate Network Support Engineer is responsible for assisting in the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of network and server infrastructure across managed environments. This role supports network performance and security by helping configure core networking protocols and remote access solutions, while also participating in network capacity planning and improvement initiatives. The position works with both on-premises technologies and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud, and contributes to disaster recovery preparedness through backup and imaging processes.

The MSP Associate Network Support Engineer develops and maintains documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base entries, and ensures accurate ticketing of work performed. This role also collaborates with senior engineers and provides guidance and technical support to team members, contributing to overall team growth and customer service excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

Network Infrastructure Deployment & Maintenance



  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the managed network infrastructure including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, storage solutions, virtualization solutions, and other network devices.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement network upgrades, changes, or enhancements as required.
  • Participate in network capacity planning and provide input on potential improvements or optimizations.


Network Configuration & Protocol Management



  • Assist with configuring and maintaining network protocols such as TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and VPNs to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Remote access solution implementation and support (i.e., VPN, Terminal Services, & Citrix).


Cloud & Systems Support



  • Work with cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
  • Support Disaster Recovery strategies including server imaging and automated offsite backups.


Documentation & Knowledge Management



  • Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and procedures for reference and training purposes.
  • Contribute detailed knowledge base (KB) documentation of customer systems.
  • Document time spent on service issues and projects accurately in ticketing systems.


Team Collaboration & Skill Development



  • Provide guidance, training, and technical support to tiered team members and assist in their skill development.


Basic Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years of technical support experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional, friendly, positive, optimistic demeanor.
  • A strong understanding of networking technologies, solutions, troubleshooting, & support.
  • Ubiquiti, Meraki Appliances, Cisco Networking Technology, Dell, EMC and HP Storage Solutions, VMware Solutions
  • Image based backup solutions.
  • General Windows Desktop and Server Administration
  • Virtual Desktop (Windows Virtual Desktop and VMware Horizons)
  • Cloud (Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with: Autotask, Datto RMM, Auvik or Managed Services (MSP)
