Your Role on the Team

Under the general direction of the Vice Provost-Educational & Community Partnerships and Chief Outreach Officer, serves as the senior internal administrative leader for the Office of Educational & Community Partnerships, managing the financial and administrative operations including: Contracts & Grants, budgetary financial management, risk, facilities, student outreach services, and unit finance services.

The position leads department-level financial planning, analysis, and operations by using advanced professional concepts and organizational objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Responsible for complex budgeting across multiple funding sources, designs forecasts and scenario models where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to ensure strong internal controls and compliance. Contacts are both internal and external to the department at all levels that requires the ability to deliver clear, actionable recommendations to leadership. Serves as the primary point of contact for unit staff.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Advanced knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Ability to identify, collect, and analyze information from multiple sources to develop strategic financial planning recommendations.
  • Advanced ability to effectively present complex finance related information both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences.
  • In depth ability to use multiple spreadsheet and database software tools to gather information for specialized, complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills at all levels within the organization; advanced service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. In depth ability to use organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to function as a member of a team.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of budgeting and internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
  • Familiarity with complex academic funding structures.
  • Advanced degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 10+ yearsRelevant experience for this job.
  • Demonstrated experience with contracts and grants administration, specifically with federal and state grants in compliance with Uniform Guidance and sponsor regulations.

Preferred:

  • Higher education experience strongly preferred.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $97000- $118300 (Annual).
