ABOUT THE ROLE

This position is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing production line equipment, facilities, and associated systems in a timely manner. The role supports overall plant operations and operates in both office and manufacturing environments.

The position requires strict adherence to safety standards, including Lock Out Tag Out procedures. The individual is expected to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and work effectively within a team environment while taking directions from a supervisor or manager. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and committed to supporting operational efficiency.

Work Environment:



  • Office Environment: Artificial lighting, computers, telephones, desks, and temperature-controlled conditions.
  • Manufacturing Environment: Artificial lighting, machine and equipment noise, welding exhaust, metal-working fluid mist, non-controlled temperatures, and required use of PPE.


Physical Demands:



  • Sitting for short periods to complete required reports
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Moving throughout office and manufacturing areas
  • Pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. (with or without assistance)
  • Manual dexterity for computer work



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production line equipment in a timely manner.
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoot, repair facilities and associated equipment in a timely manner.
  • Understand and work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematic drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Use electrical test equipment and powered/non-powered tools proficiently.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Understand and comply with Lock Out Tag Out procedures and safe practices.
  • Review and initiate continuous improvement projects.
  • Perform 5S activities.
  • Maintain accurate production records.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and take directions from supervisors and managers.
  • Participate in continued education when offered.
  • All other duties as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:



  • G.E.D. or High School Diploma required.
  • Technical School or Apprenticeship training is a plus but not required.
  • Documented On-the-Job training is a plus but not required.
  • 2-3 years maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, safety rules, and operating manuals in English.
  • Ability to write and understand simple correspondence in English.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize operating errors and take appropriate action.
  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand tools.
  • Self-starter; motivated, trustworthy, and dependable.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ALL 3 SHIFTS.
