Description

    Assisting in the fabrication and integration of C4ISR systems into multiple variants of ship vessels (Navy & MSC) to include: CVN, LHA, LPD, TAO, TATS class ships
  • Assisting technical staff members in the fabrication, integration, testing, operation, maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical circuits
  • Providing feedback to production management and QA with identified issues/defects in design or during the fabrication/integration phase with regards to cables or equipment racks
  • Performing on-site installation of equipment and products in the continental United States within various environments to include Naval Bases and privately owned shipyards
  • Performing daily quality assurance checks for cable fabrication and/or rack assembly
  • Providing written daily and weekly progress reporting
  • Using Microsoft Excel to maintain, manipulate, and track progress of cable production efforts and QA results
  • Assisting production leads in the monitoring of a production team's progress to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum of a two-year technical degree and eight years of work-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (10 years of direct work experience)
  • Shipboard (private yard or Naval Base) or Gov't facility C4I Systems Installation experience
  • Proficiency in using cable fabrication hand tools to include but not limited to: heat guns, hand soldering stations, and various crimp tools
  • Cable fabrication assembly experience with the following types of cables: RF, CAT5/6, Heliax, & Multi-pin MIL-STD Cannon Plugs
  • Previous quality assurance experience with regards to cable fabrication and rack integration
  • Read and interpret drawings
  • Must be able to perform daily administrative duties such as utilizing Outlook for emails and Excel for tracking production metrics
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal


Desired Skills

  • Fiber optic testing/QA experience IAW NAVSEA 8477552 Rev C MIL-STD-2042C (Certifications a plus)
  • Experience with utilizing various cable test equipment to seek desired passing results IAW required stage test procedures (i.e. multi-meters, TDR, OTDR, DSX-5000 or equivalent, etc.)
  • Understanding of multiple standards such as: IPC-620, Mil-STD-2003-5B
  • OSHA 10 training - shipyard employment


Clearance Information

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL



Travel Requirements

  • 50-75% yearly (as needed)
