Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking a 4th-5th year associate (Class of 2021-2022) to join the Antitrust & Competition Practice Group in our Washington, D.C. or New York City office. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience handling complex Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) filings and advising on antitrust aspects of mergers and acquisitions, gained in a law firm and/or government setting.
Qualified candidates will support transactions and investigations by advising clients on HSR reportability, preparing premerger notifications, coordinating foreign filing analyses, and managing clean team protocols. Experience drafting antitrust risk-shifting covenants in purchase agreements and representing clients in Second Request investigations or similar agency reviews is strongly preferred. Familiarity with legal technology tools, including document review platforms and AI-assisted review or workflow solutions, is a plus. We seek a well-rounded, highly motivated associate with top grades, and excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills who can thrive in a sophisticated, collegial Antitrust & Competition practice. AmLaw 100 or government experience is preferred. Applicants must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and be in good standing and an active member of the bar in the jurisdiction(s) where they practice. Timely admission to the D.C. The expected salary range for this position is between $290,000 - $310,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
