Overview
We are the Client Core Team. What do we do? We are the base platform layer, the core of the windows kernel, with a focus towards Windows client products. Partner teams build their technologies on top of our team's code base and rely on the integrity of our code base. We're responsible for the lowest layers of the operating system:
We're looking for someone to join our team. As a Senior Product Manager of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on features that advance the Windows platform to be more performant, scale better across the wide spectrum of Windows hardware and even consider new hardware scenarios. Our team has a number of dependent teams, internal and external, which allows you to work with a diverse set of individuals across Windows, Microsoft and the industry. We work directly with hardware partners and OEMs to ensure that Windows can start and run the latest processors and chipsets coming down the pipe. Members of our team work on the core firmware that ships in first party products. Others work on the most critical of system components such as PCI, boot, and the hardware abstraction layer (HAL). We also work with the industry on what new hardware or features are in the works on future silicon, and how we might best leverage those in future iterations of Windows. What our team offers:

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
