Description Acara Solutions is seeking an Accounting Manager candidate to join our client on a Full Time Direct Hire opportunity located in Columbus MS Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant / Operations Lead to oversee the accounting functions across four affiliated companies. This role is ideal for a seasoned accountant who has strong technical accounting skills and has had experience managing or mentoring accounting staff. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, support operational processes, and collaborate closely with accounting personnel to maintain best-in-class financial management. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting functions for the four companies, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Work directly with staff responsible for invoicing to ensure proper billing processes and documentation. Collaborate with the accounts payable clerk to ensure timely and accurate payment processing. Manage month-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries. Oversee accounts receivable functions, including deposit management, collections, and reporting. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to accounting staff to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements. Utilize Sage accounting software to maintain and analyze financial data. Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum of 5 years minimum of progressive accounting experience, including experience in month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts receivable/payable. Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Prior experience managing or mentoring accounting staff. Strong working knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial controls. Proficiency with Sage accounting software, including experience in multi-company accounting setups. Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement accounting best practices. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
