We are currently hiring a Process Controller, at our Cudahy, WI production facility to ensure adherence to metallurgical and manufacturing requirements for ATI's Forged Products business unit.

As a Forge Process Controller, you will observe and control forging processes as well as performing tasks that pertain to scheduling, tracking, and monitoring of forged products. This will include use of instrumentation to ensure proper production techniques of the materials, intimating corrective action during processing, and making recommendations to achieve control of forging process to ensure product quality for our customers. This position will also assist with experiments, investigations, and other related technical duties.

A successful Process Controller will quickly grasp ATI's processes and technical instructions, be attentive and detail oriented, work collaboratively with multiple departments and stakeholders, and possess the ability to act quickly and make accurate decisions on the fly.

Responsibilities




  • Controls and monitors forge shop furnaces to ensure that furnaces maintain temperature accuracy and uniformity per internal and customer requirements.
  • Observes and documents forge production of parts requiring metallurgical surveillance. This includes loading, heating, running, and cooling parts.
  • Documents and alerts supervision, engineering and management to deviations from customer requirements or written forge procedures.
  • Operates temperature measuring devices such as optical/infrared pyrometer for temperature evaluation of stock, forgings, furnaces, and tooling.
  • Recommends changes to Forging Instructions or Manufacturing Orders, coordination with Forge Shop Supervision, Manufacturing Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Performs analysis assignments such as review of heating times for operations, Downtime review and other production problem investigations.
  • Keeps informed of metallurgical developments and changes, which may affect the forging quality by working closely with Metallurgical Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers.

Basic Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent


Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic Qualifications)



  • Associate degree in Metallurgy preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Detail orientated.
