Position summary:

Perform construction, maintenance and operation of gas distribution system with main focus on welding fabrication and installation of distribution system. Complete maintenance and DOT mandated work. Responsible for ensuring integrity and satisfy company and regulatory requirements. Subject to after hours on-call status during weekday, weekends and holidays.

Pay Range: $35.12 - $42.83 per hour (Determined by the current Collective Bargaining Agreement)

Reporting Relationship: Operations Supervisor

Location: Dubuque, Iowa

Essential Functions:
* Set large volume meter sets including both fabrication and sizing to meet company standards.
* Fabrication and modification of all components in the distribution system. (District Regulating Station, Odorizers, Town Border Station).
* Welding on distribution system's mains and service lines.
* Responsible for testing contract welders.
* Complete DOT mandated work (CP checks, valve maintenance, above ground facility checks, leak survey, etc.).
* Perform tapping and stoppling of steel mains.
* Gas system maintenance - leak repair, line locates, pressure monitoring, chart changing, etc.
* Leak investigation /Emergency response (Line hits, outages).
* Inspect 3rd party contractor.
* Attend safety meetings and other employee training as assigned.
* Performs other duties, which are similar, related or incidental to this position and may work as directed, in other activities that require skills of a higher classification if qualified, as per Article 15 Section 3.
* Must comply with Company's Motor Vehicle Operation Policy and Procedure.

What Is Required:
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Three years gas operations or related work experience
* Two years welding experience
* Must be able to obtain certification on API 1104 5P+ and LH 7018. Upon Hire
* Must be able to obtain certification on API MIG welding test. Upon Hire
* Knowledge of Company gas operations and maintenance standards.
* Must have willingness to teach/train others.
* This position requires driving responsibilities. You must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurer standards.
* This role will be required to travel up to 25% of the time.

* Associate's Degree in welding
* Knowledge of cathodic protection and odorization methods and equipment.
* Customer relations skills.
* Mechanical aptitude.
* Leadership capabilities required.
* Ability to problem-solve.
* Good verbal and written communication skills; internal and external.
* Must be a good listener.
* Must be able to function independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.
* Ability to prioritize a changing work schedule with up to 50% travel time.
* Must be outgoing, self-motivated, and have a desire and willingness to learn.
* Must be able to understand and follow directions.
