What You Can Expect

As a Capex Project Intern, you'll support Project Managers in delivering utility projects that meet design, budget, and schedule goals. You will gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle-from early design through handover to Operations and Maintenance-and contribute to the successful execution of capital projects.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will:



  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure project quality, safety, and client satisfaction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain alignment on technical requirements, field conditions, and project priorities
  • Maintain project schedules and support progress updates to keep teams coordinated
  • Assist with budget tracking and reporting to help monitor project performance
  • Support development and review of construction drawings and technical documentation and learn Microsoft Project and Bluebeam
  • Participate in procurement activities, including materials coordination and supplier contract management, to ensure the smooth flow of materials, services, and information



What You'll Bring



  • Must be a current sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation



Additional Details



  • This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy in the ENGIE Iowa City office and is not eligible for remote work
  • The internship work term will be from June 1, 2026, to August 28, 2026 and require a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies



Compensation

Hourly Range: $23.00 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
