JOB SUMMARY
Supervisory responsibility for Heavy Haul activities. Responsible for monitoring, operating, controlling, and maintaining the proper operational standards for loading, transporting, unloading and storage of construction material, large transformers, mobile substations, and heavy equipment at job sites or marshaling yards with other departments and contractors throughout the company as well as recommending changes and adapting plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges. Responsible for providing close coordination and integration with T&D operations and Power Supply.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Supervises daily activities of team. Sets priorities to accomplish task or process completion. Decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plan. Typically does not perform same work as subordinates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for supervising daily activities of the Heavy Hauling team.
  • Responsible for establishing a safe work environment and promoting an IIF (Incident and Injury Free) culture and safety within the team.
  • Provides input and assists in the budget planning and monitoring of the Heavy Haul budget.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to provide technical expertise and support for all Heavy Haul operations activities.
  • Responsible for training employees in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment utilized in the Heavy Hauling department.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels and on-call coverage for all company functions and activities.
  • Ensures that resources (tools, information, enabler support, etc.) are available for the team to provide on-time, quality service for the customer.
  • Assures that activities adhere to safety and OSHA regulations.
  • Recommends and/or implements new technology/processes for Heavy Haul department.
  • Coaches the team for improved performance and adherence to safe work practices.
  • Leads team meetings for communication, safety, coordination, and team development.
  • Trains and leads the team in problem solving and decision making.
  • Hires new members, provides employee orientation, investigates issues, disciplines/counsel's members and documents the process.
  • Motivates the team to achieve goals through various methods including recognition and success celebrations.
  • Develop a multi skilled team that allows flexibility and maximizes utilization.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management or equivalent degree, plus 3 years' experience working with heavy equipment; OR
  • Five (5) year's previous leadership experience or supervisory experience to include 1 year in Heavy Hauling; OR
  • Seven (7) years' experience in Heavy Hauling
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with DOT certification (must obtain with-in 12 months of hire date)

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • May be required to be away from home for extended periods.
  • May be required to lift fifty (50) pounds or more.

SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • This is a DOT Regulated Position - Member will drive a single vehicle, or a truck and trailer combination weighing over 10,001 lbs.
  • Member is required to drive in order to perform their job duties. (Member is assigned a company vehicle and/or member must drive a company and/or personal vehicle to complete company business at least 50% of time.)
  • This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive Job under state law. Individuals in this position are subject to the terms and conditions set forth in OGE Energy Corp.'s Drug Testing Plan.
  • The handling, packaging, processing, storage, disposal or transport of hazardous materials;
  • The operation of equipment, machinery or power tools;
  • Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage;
  • The extraction, compression, processing, manufacturing, handling, packaging, storage, disposal, treatment or transport of potentially volatile, flammable, combustible materials, elements, chemicals or any other highly regulated component;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

  • Strong working knowledge and experience with the operation of various heavy equipment such as tractor/trailer, crane, backhoe, dozer and/or hydra lift.
  • Ability to effectively manage people, equipment and resources.
  • Familiar with Substation and Transmission line materials.
  • Understand safety requirements and actively promote safety in the workplace.
  • Exceptional communication skills to communicate effectively with customers, teams and Company members/management at all levels.
  • Collaborative skills to work with the team members and members in other areas in shared decision making.
  • Ability to facilitate team meetings and activities, utilizing formal facilitation techniques and processes.
  • Ability to lead staff in achieving company goals.
  • Ability to utilize SAP and other person computer software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities.
  • May require CDL. (Class A license preferred)

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Required Certifications/Licensures: (Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with DOT certification (must obtain with-in 12 months of hire date)

SALARY RANGE

$87,630 - $116,854
