Job Summary

The UCSF-SFGH JJBH research team engages in a program of research that incorporates epidemiological/observation, behavioral intervention efficacy trial, and structural-level approaches to understanding how to improve behavioral health (HIV and sexually transmitted infections risk, psychiatric symptoms, substance use), and legal (recidivism) outcomes for system-involved youth and adults. The JJBH team also has a portfolio of work focusing on projects and programs specific to behavioral health service navigation for youth, young adults and families (e.g., a navigator program for transition age youth recently or currently involved in foster care, a family navigator program for youth and families served in Pediatric Primary Care at ZSFG), telehealth interventions for youth and families impacted by the child welfare system, and evaluation of gender-responsive behavioral health services for girls and women who have contact with the justice system (e.g., evaluation of VoicesHEAL gender responsive services).

This work is being led by Cre8innovations, a community-based organization led by formerly incarcerated professionals in partnership with the Office of Youth and Community Restoration (OYCR).
