Job Description

Helix Electric is looking for an experienced Welder to join our team. We're looking for a hardworking energetic professional who enjoys meeting challenges and surpassing customer expectations.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Must have experience in welding mild steel, stainless steel, & aluminum
• Minimum of one years' experience welding in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of welding practices
• Knowledge of reading drawings and blueprints.
• Must be able to read tape measure, be proficient at layout, and have experience reading plans and specs.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Perform MIG, TIG and other types of weld based on project needs
• Verify material sizes
• Interpret drawings to cut, notch, fit, and weld materials to proper specifications

• Monitor and verify the accuracy of each job's initial set-up and final outcome
• Communicates with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues

• May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow.
• Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves always), respirator when required.
• Able to work 8-10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime, and night shifts as required.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required.
• Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
• Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
