Senior Director, Investment Strategy, SLC Fixed Income - SLC Management

What is in it for you:
Reporting to the President & CIO SLC Fixed Income, the Senior Director, Investment Strategy will be tasked with providing support for investment strategy initiatives, which includes evaluating, monitoring, and reporting on the financial performance and risk exposure of SLC Fixed Income investment portfolios.

This role will be responsible for analyzing and presenting performance attribution against benchmarks, conducting macro research, assessing market/credit risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, providing data-driven insights to portfolio managers to optimize investment strategies, and preparing Board ready materials.

What you will do:

* Support the President & CIO SLC Fixed Income in facilitating the achievement of SLC Fixed income strategic goals by understanding the nuances of the investment performance of the investment portfolios

* Conduct in-depth macro and micro research and evaluate both market and credit risks to provide expert consultation to the President & CIO, SLC Fixed Income.

* Pro-actively keep up to date with current industry approved standards related to the calculation and presentation of the firm's investment performance using current knowledge and available internal and external resources.

* Evaluate the performance and assess risk exposure while developing risk management solutions for the SLC Fixed Income business. Assess metrics, returns, fees, performance attribution, exposure, and risk analytics for mandates and benchmarks for the SLC Fixed Income investment portfolios.

* Collaborate with staff across the entire enterprise, including members of the Office of the CIO, and other Strategy teams regarding the delivery of investment performance for various Board reviews, validating that it complies with the current standards and that it aligns with the SLC's desired mandate

* Oversee multiple initiatives concurrently to support the attainment of both SLC Fixed Income's and the broader SLC Management platform's strategic and operational performance objectives.

* Establish, create and maintain a schedule of reporting deliverables in satisfaction of various deadlines for monthly, quarterly, yearly and Board reporting requirements. Ensure that all content is accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with organizational standards.

* Industry Knowledge

A deep understanding of SLC Management, Sun Life, and the associated asset classes is required. A successful candidate must demonstrate comprehensive expertise in these areas to effectively contribute to business objectives and investment strategies.

* Analytical and Decision-Making Skills

The role demands an analytical approach and a data-driven mindset for decision-making. Candidates should be adept at leveraging both quantitative and qualitative information to navigate complex scenarios and resolve issues efficiently.

* Communication Skills

Strong communication abilities, paired with exceptional attention to detail, are essential. The candidate must be capable of engaging effectively with individuals across a range of diverse, differing, competing, and potentially conflicting perspectives or priorities.

* Creative and Strategic Thinking

The ability to think outside the box and apply innovative solutions to complex challenges is critical. Candidates should demonstrate strategic and creative thinking to support long-term business growth, adapt to changing environments, and ensure seamless execution at the granular level.

* Integrity and Discretion

A high level of integrity is fundamental to the role. The candidate must recognize the sensitivity of certain information and consistently maintain discretion and confidentiality in all professional dealings.

* Project Management Skills

Excellent project management abilities are required, especially in creating impactful presentations and comprehensive reports. Candidates should be able to manage multiple initiatives and deliverables with precision and reliability.

Additional Skills:

* MBA, CFA or advanced degree preferred

* 10+ years of asset management and direct investment experience, investment performance, measurement, attribution, research and/or compliance

For US applicants the base salary range $154.5k - $231.5k USD Annual
