SRC, Inc. is currently seeking an IT Data Analyst. The IT Data Analyst works closely with business representatives and technical resources to define, catalog, and integrate data assets. The Data Analyst plays a leadership role in defining standards and templates that can be utilized to foster good data governance practices, working with designated business data stewards. Through research and training, the IT Data Analyst brings these concepts to business stewards and management with the goal of improving data quality and accessibility supporting a culture of data-driven decision making.
This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure high availability, performance and scalability of reporting solutions. This role is crucial in transforming complex, multiple-source datasets into meaningful, actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in SQL, DAX, data modeling and data transformation, and will be adept in working with technical and business stakeholders to design and iterate on dashboards that reflect evolving business needs.
What You'll Do
  • Gather and define data requirements on projects
  • Support the development of models to represent data requirements, reports and visualizations
  • Work closely with the Data Architect/DBA in the development of models to represent logical and physical database design
  • Map data for integration efforts
  • Support sustainable data management practices, including master data management and metadata management
  • Collaborate with business to implement data-related project deliverables, including reports and visualizations
  • Provide technical support to business data representatives
  • Design, develop and maintain interactive PowerBI dashboards/reports/apps that provide clear, actionable insights
  • Engage with business stakeholders and translate business requirements into intuitive visualizations that support decision-making
  • Optimize reporting for performance, scalability and usability across user groups
  • Partner closely with Database Administrator (DBA) to understand data source structures, optimize queries, and ensure efficient use of data assets
  • Work across teams to identify and eliminate redundant calculations, datasets, or manual data handling
  • Partner with DBA and Data Architect to design, test, and improve ETL or data integration processes that enhance data quality and consistency
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum 4 years' experience with IT projects, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of database and associated query language
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals at any level of the organization
  • Must be self-motivated, a self-starter
  • Organized and proactive in documenting standards and project deliverables

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $85,000 to $95,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
