Equipment Engineering Supervisor, Energy

We are seeking an energetic, team-oriented people-person with demonstrated manufacturing experience to be responsible for the performance of a team of Equipment Engineering Technicians at Tesla Gigafactory New York. The individual will be responsible for leading their team to help improve the operation of the plant, develop engineering skills in technicians, and support equipment operations and downtime.

This person must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address concerns and issues that affect part quality, production efficiency, work cell ergonomics, equipment maintenance, etc. The successful candidate will also have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.

• Management of a team of Equipment Engineering Technicians spread across 4 different shifts that are responsible for equipment availability and performance
• Coverage of production line equipment, including escalation response on broken equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
• Systematically ensure that equipment learnings from breakdowns are documented and transferred to other departments
• Leadership and organization of strategic team initiatives such as targeted improvement projects to maximize plant OEE, establishment of team vision and goals
• Participation in and leadership of daily production meetings and updates

• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of extensive experience with improving, troubleshooting and correcting industrial equipment. Experience with production line design and development desired
• Well-rounded background that includes experience with mechanical, electrical, controls, and test engineering and equipment design/operation
• Availability for off-hours and weekend calls and to track breakdown events while on-site and remotely as they occur.
• Ability to understand requirements of unique situations, divert resources and assist with escalations as required

• Supervisor Manufacturing Engineering - $108,720 - $163,080/annual salary

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
