Age Specific Responsibility

Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.

Summary

The Director of System Education is responsible for developing and leading the clinical education strategy across the health system. This role ensures the safe and consistent delivery of clinical care by establishing standards for educational resources, evidencebased curriculum, competency validation, and the overall structure of systemwide clinical training. The Director provides strategic direction, operational oversight, and crossfunctional leadership to support highquality, compliant, and effective clinical practice.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & System Oversight

  • Develops and executes a comprehensive systemwide clinical education strategy for all clinical staff and services, ensuring highquality and compliant patient care.
  • Creates and articulates a longterm strategic vision for system education, including structure, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Leads crossfunctional alignment of educational priorities, ensuring consistent implementation, prioritization, and governance across departments.
  • Owns departmental planning, portfolio delivery, KPI monitoring, and resource management within allocated budgets.
  • Provides change leadership and ensures readiness and capability uplift across the system.

Curriculum, Training, & Competency Management

  • Oversees the development and standardization of clinical training materials, including presentations, videos, job aids, and handson training.
  • Ensures all curriculum remains evidencebased, current, and aligned with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
  • Designs and implements strategies to support various learning styles and enhance competency development for all clinical staff.
  • Oversees systemwide employee health and educational needs assessments to identify gaps and inform program development.
  • Leads the creation and maintenance of competency requirements consistent with job expectations and regulatory standards.

Quality, Outcomes & Program Effectiveness

  • Monitors the effectiveness of educational programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, clinical outcomes, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Ensures educational objectives and required content are consistently delivered across all system locations and teams.
  • Guarantees the integration of evidencebased practice throughout the system's learning programs and clinical teaching approach.

Leadership & People Management

  • Provides leadership to multiple teams, including managers and educators, ensuring highquality work, capacity planning, and crossteam coordination.
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, performance management, professional development, and corrective action for assigned staff.
  • Plans organizational structure, role design, and longterm workforce capability for the system education function.

Clinical Requirements

  • When applicable, provides patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of licensure, certification, or registration and in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Customer Service Responsibilities

Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members. This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information.

Essential Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in administration, education, or a healthrelated field is required.
  • Clinical licensure in nursing, therapy, or related clinical field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of management experience.
  • At least three years of experience in a healthrelated and educationfocused role.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and teaching clinical teams.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Master's degree in administration, education, or a healthrelated field.
  • Experience designing clinical training programs and preceptor development.
  • Public speaking and project planning experience.
  • Certifications in employee wellness or related specialty programs.
