The Compensation Manager - Equity & Compensation Programs is responsible for the strategic design, administration, and governance of the Company's equity and cash compensation programs for a large, U.S.-only organization. This role leads equity compensation administration while also supporting core compensation processes including annual merit and bonus planning, job architecture, market pricing, and executive compensation support.

The role serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and HR partners, providing data-driven analysis, guidance, and education on complex and sensitive compensation matters, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and alignment with the Company's compensation philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

Equity Compensation Programs

  • Administer all equity compensation programs, including stock options, RSUs, performance-based equity, and other long-term incentive vehicles.
  • Manage the full equity lifecycle, including grant processing, vesting, exercises, forfeitures, cancellations, and terminations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of equity transactions through equity administration systems.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Payroll, and external vendors to ensure accurate equity administration and tax accounting.
  • Support equity modeling, expense forecasting, and equity-related reporting for leadership, the Compensation Committee, and the Board.

Company-Wide Compensation Programs

  • Manage the design, implementation, and administration of company compensation programs, specifically equity programs, may also support broader compensation programs.
  • Manage the annual compensation planning process for assigned areas, identifying company-wide priorities and developing or refreshing compensation frameworks, policies, and processes.
  • Design and implement moderately complex, company-wide compensation initiatives, providing analytical support and solution development for specific compensation issues.

Executive & Strategic Advisory Support

  • Provide strategic analysis, consultation, and education to executives and managers on highly sensitive and complex compensation issues.
  • Support executive compensation decisions and processes, including pay analysis, incentive design, and equity recommendations.
  • Develop materials and presentations for senior leadership and executive audiences.

Job Architecture, Market Pricing & Pay Structures

  • Manage job benchmarking and market pricing evaluations for existing, new, and evolving roles in accordance with compensation policies and guidelines.
  • Manage titling, leveling, and pay decisions using a consistent methodology and job architecture framework.
  • Maintain salary structures, incentive targets, equity eligibility, and other job-related compensation elements in Workday HRIS.
  • Manage the annual salary survey process, including vendor selection, data submission, and market analysis.

Compliance, Governance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations, including FLSA, pay transparency, and wage and hour requirements.
  • Monitor compensation guidelines, procedures, and internal controls to ensure consistent application.
  • Partner with Legal as needed to address regulatory questions, policy interpretation, and risk mitigation.
  • Support internal and external audits related to compensation and equity programs.

Budgeting, Planning & Analytics

  • Assist in the annual compensation budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Prepare compensation analytics, dashboards, and reporting to support business decisions and leadership review.
  • Manage job-related data elements including job codes, FLSA status, incentive targets, equity eligibility, and other compensation attributes.

HR Partnership, Systems & Process Improvement

  • Provide consultation and ongoing support to HR Business Partners and management.
