Join us for a 12-week internship with the ServiceNow team:

In this internship role, you would:This internship provides an exciting opportunity to dive deep intoServiceNow development.You will play an active role in developing custom forms, automating processes, writing scripts, and implementing solutions using ServiceNow's platform. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of development concepts and tools within ServiceNow.

Day-to-day asks are likely to include:

  • Writing, testing, and debugging scripts (JavaScript)in theServiceNow platform.
  • Developing custom forms and solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Working with ServiceNow modules such as Incident Management, Change Management, and Knowledge Management.
  • Collaborating with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing workflows and processes.
  • Engaging in self-study through online learning resources like video tutorials, courses, and documentation to deepen your knowledge of ServiceNow and development practices.

Ideal skills for this role include:

Must-have skills:

  • Basic proficiency in programming andscripting languages (JavaScriptpreferred).
  • Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Familiarity with databases or SQL queries is a plus.
  • Strong interest in self-learning and the ability to take initiative in acquiring new skills.

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Experience with the ServiceNow platform or any other IT service management tools.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs or web services.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies or project management tools.

People skills:

  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on learning and projects.
  • A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.

Requirements for the role include:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have completed at least one year of college.
  • A track record of student success and potential as demonstrated by GPA, research portfolio, prior work experiences, and/or recommendations from professors.
  • Strong motivation to learn independently by utilizing online resources such as learning platforms, YouTube tutorials, and technical documentation.

  • Visit https://developer.servicenow.com/to create a new site account or sign in if you already have one.
  • Request an instance and select "Xanadu" to match the IDEXX instances we use.
  • Note: To avoid your instance from being reset, you must log in weekly.
  • Explore the platform and get familiar with the various features and documentation available.

2. Create a Learning Account:

  • Sign up or log in at https://nowlearning.servicenow.com/to start exploring ServiceNow's learning resources.
  • Take advantage of the available courses, tutorials, and certifications to build your knowledge of the platform and its capabilities.

3. Build a Simple Form and Workflow Process (Optional):

  • As an extra step to demonstrate your skills and initiative, we invite you to build a simple form and workflow process within your ServiceNow Personal Developer Instance (PDI). This could be a basic process such as a form to submit a service request, a change management request, or any process that demonstrates your understanding of forms, workflows, and scripting within ServiceNow.

What to include:

  • A form with fields for user input.
  • A simple workflow to automate the process based on the form submission.
  • Ensure that the form and workflow are functional and can be easily explained during an interview.
  • This project is optional but will give you the opportunity to showcase your hands-on skills and initiative, which will make you stand out as a candidate.
  • If you choose to complete this task, we would love for you to be prepared to demo your work during the interview.
