Unit Overview The Department of Emergency Medicine (EM) at Cooper University Health Care is a dynamic clinical department that provides high quality patient-centric emergency care to our community. As part of CUES (Center for Emergent and Urgent Services) for Cooper, we have an expansive clinical, educational, and research-based focus. Our education team trains 40 EM residents, 2 EMS fellows, one education fellow and one ultrasound fellow in addition to teaching a highly rated required 4th year clerkship for every Cooper Medical School of Rowan University student. The service lines have expanded to include: 3 urgent care sites, pediatric EM, EMS, toxicology, ultrasound, collaboration with addiction medicine/pain management, high quality research/grants, geriatric EM and disaster medicine. The education fellowship is designed for EM trained junior faculty seeking individualized mentorship and opportunities to build skills in medical education teaching, scholarship, leadership and curricular development. The fellowship provides dedicated time to develop academic projects, foster collaborations, and hone a specific area of expertise within medical education. The education fellow will have clinical responsibilities, but reduced compared to new faculty hires, to provide ample time to develop their educational skill set and help start their career in medical education. Education Requirements MD or DO with completion of EM residency- the applicant must have completed an ACGME accredited EM residency program and be ABEM board eligible or ABEM board certified.
