Senior Product Manager - Cortex AI Functions

Snowflake
$200,000 - $287,500
parental leave, paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k), retirement plan
United States, California, Menlo Park
Feb 17, 2026

Snowflake is about empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential - and people too. With a culture that's all in on impact, innovation, and collaboration, Snowflake is the sweet spot for building big, moving fast, and taking technology - and careers - to the next level.

Snowflake is fundamentally reshaping how enterprises use AI, moving it from experimental tooling to a trusted, native capability of the AI Data Cloud. At the heart of this transformation are Cortex AI Functions, which simplify the complexity of unstructured data analysis into simple, SQL-native primitives (like Complete, Classify, Extract, Sentiment, Transcribe) that run directly where data lives.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Menlo Park team. In this role, you won't just be adding features; you will be the lead architect for how AI is operationalized at a massive scale. You will own the vision for the next generation of multimodal AI functions-enabling our customers to process text, images, video, and audio as easily as they query a table today. You will bridge the gap between cutting-edge LLM research and production-grade enterprise software.

AS A SENIOR PM AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:
  • Define the Future Architecture: Lead the long-term vision and strategy for Cortex AI Functions, moving beyond individual task-specific functions toward a cohesive, multimodal AI orchestration layer.

  • Own High-Stakes Delivery: Drive the roadmap for mission-critical AI primitives, including text completion, classification, document parsing, and transcription. You will ensure these functions are high-performance, cost-predictable, and enterprise-secure.

  • Pioneer Multimodal Integration: Partner with engineering to evolve the SQL language (AISQL) to support new data types (FILE, AUDIO, IMAGE) and agentic workflows that allow analysts to build complex AI pipelines without writing a single line of Python.

  • Drive 0-to-1 & 1-to-N Initiatives: Identify emerging AI patterns-such as agentic RAG, automated PII redaction, or real-time document intelligence-and turn them into scalable, GA-ready product offerings.

  • Cultivate the Ecosystem: Engage with Snowflake's largest, most sophisticated customers and top-tier model providers to ensure our platform offers best-in-class performance and the latest LLM innovations.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the "CEO" of your product area, influencing roadmaps across the Query Engine, Security, Governance, and UI/UX teams to ensure a seamless "it just works" experience.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
  • 5-8+ years of Product Management experience, with a proven track record of shipping complex cloud infrastructure, database internals, or AI/ML platforms.

  • Deep AI Fluency: A strong understanding of modern AI paradigms, including LLM context windows, prompt engineering, vector embeddings, and the nuances of multimodal processing (OCR, audio-to-text, etc.).

  • Technical Depth: Proficiency in SQL and a solid understanding of database internals or distributed systems. You should be comfortable discussing API contracts, latency trade-offs, and tokenization with senior engineers.

  • Customer Obsession: Experience working directly with Fortune 500 customers to solve high-value business problems using AI.

  • Scale Mindset: You have experience maturing products to handle massive scale (processing billions of tokens or petabytes of unstructured data) while maintaining high availability.

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, or a related technical field (MBA or PhD preferred).

BONUS POINTS:
  • Hands-on experience with Document AI, LLM Fine-Tuning, or Agentic Frameworks.

  • Experience in SQL dialect design or contributing to data standards.

  • Prior experience as a heavy SQL developer, data scientist, or database architect.

Snowflake is growing fast, and we're scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
