About the Role
We're searching for a dynamic, motivated Administrative Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in the operation of the S8G Prototype at the Kesselring Site. This position offers the unique opportunity to interface directly with Navy Sailors and exceptional civilian personnel to help drive mission success with one of the most capable teams in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.



You'll provide critical administrative support to the S8G Plant Manager and their leadership team, ensuring seamless coordination of plant activities and enabling the team to stay mission-focused and strategically aligned. Whether it's managing schedules, facilitating communications, or coordinating essential work for the S8G plant, you'll be at the heart of one of the most advanced technical environments in the program.




  • Act as a central point of contact between the S8G Plant Manager, their staff, and Navy Sailors-facilitating effective communication and seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Support the S8G Plant Manager in managing and prioritizing a high workload, assisting with task planning and execution to maintain focus on mission-critical objectives.
  • Coordinate and track plant work across departments and initiatives, ensuring alignment with site priorities and deadlines.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as calendar management, meeting preparation, correspondence, and document organization to enable leadership to stay ahead of schedule and on target.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance environment, working alongside a team of exceptional personnel dedicated to supporting the fleet and the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program's overall mission.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience or; Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or; Bachelor degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills

  • Prior administrative or coordination experience, especially in technical or operational environments
  • Familiarity with Naval culture, structure, and protocols
  • High proficiency with productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, task-tracking systems)

Pay Range
$56,900.00 - $87,100.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a national asset solely dedicated to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. We rely on the dedication and innovation of our nearly 8000 engineers, scientists, technicians, and support personnel.

All candidates must be U.S. citizens. Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. FMP is a government contractor and maintains a drug free workplace and workforce. All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707.
