Description

The Courier Operations & Administrative Specialist provides secure courier support and administrative operations to ensure the timely and compliant delivery of passports and official documentation to DoD Fort Belvoir and other designated locations. This role is critical to supporting DIA's global mission by enabling personnel to obtain required travel documentation for time-sensitive deployments to critical operational environments. The position requires strong operational planning, policy interpretation, security compliance, and cross-functional coordination in a high-visibility, mission-driven environment.



Responsibilities

    Execute secure courier support operations for the delivery of passports and official documents to DoD Fort Belvoir and other designated locations in accordance with established security protocols.
  • Maintain strict chain-of-custody procedures and ensure full compliance with all handling, documentation, and audit requirements.

  • Coordinate scheduling, routing, and logistics to support time-sensitive deployment requirements and mission priorities.

  • Perform Passport and Visa administrative functions to ensure personnel receive required documentation for global travel and deployment.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Defense Travel System (DTS) issues, including research, error identification, and corrective action.

  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of administrative and office management principles to develop practical solutions to operational challenges.

  • Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) and Global Exchange (GEX) processes, including facilitating secure file transfers between unclassified and classified environments.

  • Independently plan, prioritize, and execute assignments while resolving operational conflicts and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Interpret and apply policies and procedures in ambiguous situations, making informed decisions that may impact program outcomes and expenditures.

  • Proactively communicate progress, risks, and issues to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure continuity of operations and provide backup support during peak workload periods.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, security compliance, and overall operational effectiveness.



Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
  • Demonstrated experience in secure courier operations, logistics coordination, or administrative program support.
  • Strong knowledge of office administrative and management principles.

  • Experience working in DoD or other federal government environments.

  • Ability to independently plan, prioritize, and execute assignments with minimal supervision.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with security protocols.

Desired:

  • Background in IT systems support.

  • Knowledge of Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes.

  • Familiarity with Global Exchange (GEX) processes.

  • Experience transferring files between unclassified and classified environments.

  • Experience supporting Defense Travel System (DTS) troubleshooting and resolution.



Salary Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
