ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *Utilize best practice engineering methods to provide expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives. *Direct, evaluate, and confirm product design for manufacturability and related changes. *Utilize technical understanding of the products and how the interactions between workers affect the product. *Develop relationships with shop-floor employees throughout the operation to ensure that the established product standards are maintained. *Foster teamwork within the Manufacturing Engineering department and effectively bridge gaps between Product Design and Production. *Foster teamwork with the Sales department and help understand the customers wants and specifications. Direct, evaluate and confirm specifications for manufacturability and facilitate any related changes. *Provide insight into examining technology, resources at hand, and market demands in order to determine whether a proposed project is practical and achievable. *Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the organization. *Coordinate and direct project plans, making sure that the plans are followed-up in detail to accomplish the desired objectives. *Assist in the recruiting of qualified employees to whom they can assign and designate tasks that contribute to prespecified improvement targets. *Drive efficiencies thru process improvements. *Maintaining compliance with quality standards and Federal regulations. Other duties as required.
