Job Description




As a Security Officer - Access Check Driver in Paulsboro, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer assigned to access control at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage site entry, verify credentials, track visitors and vehicles, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with employees, contractors, and drivers, document activity, and support routine patrols when needed. This is a driving post, backed by a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that leads with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures at a chemical and/or petrochemical location, including verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing arrivals to designated check-in points.
  • Control entry and exit at gates and/or checkpoints by monitoring credential readers, maintaining sign-in logs, coordinating with site contacts, and helping to deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to alarms, access violations, and other incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate site personnel and/or emergency services per post orders.
  • Conduct vehicle and/or delivery screening as required, such as verifying shipping documentation, checking authorized routes, and observing for prohibited items consistent with site procedures.
  • Complete security-related reports and shift logs, communicate key activity to oncoming personnel, and support emergency response activities when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Have a TSA issued TWIC.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
