Pay Rate: $18.40

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for providing support related to product quality, breakdowns, and shelf life.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

• Provide production support in all aspects of the Dole quality process.
• Maintain reports and log entries in the system.
• Utilize an electronic tablet for digital data entry.
• Remove products from shelf-life storage.
• Assess product quality and determine any breakdowns.
• Evaluate, grade, and record shelf-life data.
• Responsible for generating the weekly shelf-life report.
• Communicate with production and Quality Assurance (QA) staff regarding product quality issues and concerns.
• Assist with other Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) functions as needed, including pre-operational inspections, audits, environmental monitoring (EMP) swabs, and Critical Control Point (CCP) checks.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

• EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in a food processing facility is preferred.
• SKILLS: Strong oral communication skills are essential. Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required, along with the ability to enter data accurately and with great attention to detail.
• ADDITIONAL: Candidates should have the hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is also necessary. Regular and acceptable attendance is required, along with the ability to follow directions, interact positively with co-workers, and understand and adhere to posted work rules and procedures. Flexibility in working any shift, as the workload demands, is essential.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is conducted in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34 degrees Fahrenheit. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present. The work surfaces and floors may be wet. Employees are required to wear approved footwear and protective equipment. Workers must be capable of lifting to 20 pounds unassisted for up to one-third of the workday and 6 pounds overhead as job demands require. The position involves constant standing on a concrete floor, along with reaching, bending, stooping, and performing repetitive hand movements. Additionally, moving machinery, including conveyors and forklifts, operates in the immediate area.

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be prepared to work a variety of shifts and fulfill overtime requirements as necessary, including some weekends.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.

$18.40
